Instructions:

Magic Ring and Initial Rounds:

Round 1:

Create a magic ring.
Chain 2 (this does not count as the first double crochet).
Make 14 double crochets (dc) into the magic ring.
Place a stitch marker into the first double crochet to mark your starting point.
Pull the yarn tail to close the circle.
Remove the stitch marker and slip stitch to join the round.

For Round 2:

Chain 2.
Make 2 double crochets in each of the 14 stitches around (total 28 stitches).
Remove the stitch marker and slip stitch to join the round.

Round 3:

Chain 2.
1 double crochet in the first stitch, 2 double crochets in the next stitch.
Repeat from * around (total 42 stitches).
Remove the stitch marker and slip stitch to join the round.
Cut and secure the yarn end.
