Materials:

  • Red yarn (or any color of your choice for the strawberry)
  • Green yarn (or any color of your choice for the leaves)
  • 2.5 mm crochet hook
  • Yarn needle

Abbreviations:

  • MR: Magic Ring
  • ch: Chain
  • sl st: Slip Stitch

  • cl st: Cluster Stitch (yarn over 5 times, pull through all the loops, chain 1)

Instructions:

  1. Start with the Magic Ring (MR):
    • Create a Magic Ring and leave a long tail for sewing later.
  2. Row 1:
    • Yarn over 5 times.
    • Pull through all the loops on the hook and chain 1 to complete the cluster stitch.
    • Repeat this 4 more times to have a total of 5 cluster stitches in the Magic Ring.
    • Do not pull the Magic Ring too tight yet.
  3. Finish Row 1:
    • Chain 1 after the last cluster stitch.
    • Cut the yarn, ensuring you leave enough length for sewing later.
  4. Change Colour for Row 2:
    • Insert your hook between any two cluster stitches from Row 1.
    • Attach your second color yarn (green, brown, yellow, or whatever color you prefer).
    • Chain 1 to secure the new yarn.
  5. Row 2:
    • Yarn over 5 times.
    • Pull through all the loops and chain 1 to complete the cluster stitch.
    • Repeat this 3 more times to have a total of 4 cluster stitches in Row 2.
  6. Finish Row 2:
    • After the last cluster, chain 1 and turn.
    • Cut the yarn, leaving enough length for sewing.
  7. Row 3:
    • Attach your yarn again in the next position.
    • Make 3 cluster stitches with the same method (yarn over 5 times, pull through all loops, chain 1).
    • Chain 1, cut yarn, leaving a length for sewing afterward.
  8. Row 4:
    • Attach your yarn again and make 2 cluster stitches.
    • Finish with chain 1, cut yarn, leaving a length for sewing.
  9. Row 5:
    • Attach your yarn and make 1 cluster stitch.
    • Finish with chain 1, cut the yarn, and ensure you have enough for sewing.
  10. Tighten Magic Ring:
    • Fully tighten the Magic Ring carefully.
  11. Create the Chain Strap:
    • Chain 6 from where you left off.
    • Cut the yarn, leaving enough length to weave in later.
    • Use a tapestry needle to neatly weave in all your loose ends.

Additional Notes:

  • You can make the strawberry in any color; the video suggests it could also be used to make grapes if you choose corresponding colors.
  • Follow the instructions on creating the cluster stitch as the video shows.
  • If desired, you can extend the strap length by chaining more than 6.
