Cute Stuffed No Sew Crochet Jellyfish Amigurumi Tutorial

No Sew Crochet Jellyfish Amigurumi

Supplies Needed:

• Yarn: Baby snuggle yarn (6 weight) in peach and deep red
• Crochet Hook: 5.5 mm hook
• Others: Scissors, darning needle, stitch marker, safety eyes, black medium weight yarn, fiber fill

Stitches Used:

• Magic ring
• Single crochet (sc)
• Double crochet (dc)
• Slip stitch (sl st)
• Chain (ch)
• Increase stitch (inc – 2 single crochets in one stitch)
• Decrease stitch (dec – invisible decrease by working into the front loop only)

Head:

Round 1:

• Start with a magic ring.
  Place 8 single crochets into the magic ring. (8)

Round 2:

• Increase in every stitch: 2 single crochets in each stitch. (16)

For Round 3:

• Single crochet in the first stitch, increase in the next stitch. Repeat 8 times. (24)

Round 4:

• Single crochet in each stitch around. (24)

Round 5:

• Single crochet 2 stitches, then increase in the next stitch. Repeat 8 times. (32)

For Round 6:

• Single crochet in each stitch around. (32)

Round 7:

• Single crochet 3 stitches, then increase in the next stitch. Repeat 8 times. (40)

Round 8:

• Single crochet in each stitch around. (40)

For Round 9:

• Single crochet 4 stitches, then increase in the next stitch. Repeat 8 times. (48)

Rounds 10-13:

• Single crochet in each stitch around. (48 each round)

Round 14:

• Invisible decrease all the way around. (24)

For Round 15:

• Place eyes between rows 9 and 10 with about 9-10 stitches in between.

Round 16:

• Single crochet in each stitch around. (24)

Round 17:

• Invisible decrease all the way around. (12)

For Round 18:

• Invisible decrease all the way around. (6)

Finish off and close the hole. Weave in the ends. Stuff the head and insert eyes securely.

Skirt:

Change to a 3.75 mm hook for ease.

Work into row 13 of the head, in a spiral.

• Pull yarn through 13th row at the back, secure with a single crochet.
• Skip 1 stitch, 5 double crochets in the next stitch. Repeat to create petals around the body.

Finish off when you complete the round and weave in ends.

Tentacles:

Work into row 16 of the head.

Large Tentacles:

• Fasten with a slip knot.
• Chain 20.
• Skip first chain, in the second chain from the hook, make 3 double crochets.
• Continue 3 double crochets in each chain down (19 chains to work in).
• Slip stitch back to attach and fasten off.

Small Tentacles:

• Create with red yarn.
• Similar to the large tentacles.
• Chain 15 and fasten off.

Alternate between large and small tentacles all around. Weave in all ends.

Center Tentacle:

• Attach in the center of the head’s bottom.
• Chain 20.
• Skip first chain, make 3 double crochets in every chain down.
• Slip stitch to finish and fasten off.

Facial Detailing:

• Use black medium weight yarn and darning needle.
• Insert needle as close as possible to the top inner corner of one eye.
• Pass through to the top inner corner of the opposite eye.
• Pull yarn down to base of the jelly.
• Knot and weave in ends securely.
