Materials required:

  •  Yarn, I used 100% cotton yarn 8/4 (medium weight, 4 ply).
  • Crochet hook 2.5 mm
  • Fiberfill / toy stuffing

With yarn in main color.

  • Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
  • Rnd 2: [inc] x 6 (12)

  • Rnd 4: [1 sc, inc] x 12 (36)
  • Rnd 5: [1 sc, inc] x 18 (54)
  • Rnd 6: 12 sc, [4 hdc, hdc-inc] x 6, 12 sc (60)
  • Rnd 7: 12 sc, 36 hdc, 12 sc (60)
  • Rnd 8: put together the stitches and crochet the first 12 sc and last 12 sc together with 12 sc  see picture to right.

Slst in next sc. Fasten off and weave in the yarn. Weave also in the yarn from the magic ring.

Head 1

Change yarn to another additional color.

Pick up the yarn on the loop of the first hdc from round 8.

  • Rnd 9: [2 sc, make 2 ch, 1 slst in the second ch from the hook]

Continue on the next st – repeat the instruction between the brackets until you have a total of 21 “spikes”. (You will only crochet in the hdc-st from round 8. Skip the rest of the sc.)

Slst in the same sc from the base, fasten off, and weave in the yarn. Stuff lightly some filling into the nose tip.

Stuff firmly with filling, make sure to shape the curves even, and then stuff as you go.

Cut the yarn and leave a long tail. With needle pull the yarn to round 40. From here you will sew the head onto the neck.

Press the front of the body into the middle of the head (backside). By flipping the dinos neckshield you can easier sew it to the body see picture above.

Skip next sc and make a slst in next st. Cut the yarn and leave a long tail to sew it to the head on round 6-7.
