Materials Needed:

• Red Heart Super Saver yarn (black 4mm weight or color of your choice)
• Yarn in the same color used for the leaf (small bit, for sewing)
• Tapestry needle
• Pair of scissors
• 5.25mm (I) crochet hook
• 9 stitch markers

Instructions:

Create a Magic Loop:

• Start with a magic loop.

Round 1:

• Chain 3 (does not count as a stitch).
• Work 10 double crochets into the magic loop.
• Pull the tail to tighten the loop.
• Slip stitch to the top of the first double crochet (not into the chain 3).

Round 2:

• Place a stitch marker in the first stitch.
• Work 2 double crochets in each stitch around (total: 20 double crochets).

For Round 3:

• Work 1 double crochet in the first stitch, then place the stitch marker back into this stitch.
• Work 2 double crochets in the next stitch.
• Continue the pattern of 1 double crochet in one stitch, 2 double crochets in the next (total: 30 double crochets).

Round 4:

• Work 1 double crochet in each of the first two stitches.
• Work 2 double crochets in the next stitch.
• Repeat this pattern all the way around (total: 40 double crochets).

Round 5:

• Work 1 double crochet in each stitch around without any increases (total: 40 double crochets).

For Rounds 6-13:

• Work 1 double crochet in each stitch around for each row (total: 40 double crochets per round).

Round 14:

• Work 1 half double crochet in each stitch around (total: 40 half double crochets).

Round 15 (Final Round):

• Work 1 single crochet in each stitch around (total: 40 single crochets).
• Slip stitch into the first stitch to close the round.
• Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Attaching the Leaf:

Position the Leaf:

• Place the toilet paper cover on a toilet paper roll.
• Position the leaf in the desired place on the cover.
• Use stitch markers to pin the leaf in place.

Sew the Leaf:

• Remove the toilet paper roll and thread the yarn used for the leaf onto a tapestry needle.
• Starting from the inside of the cover, begin sewing the leaf onto the cover. Secure the yarn with a knot and then sew around the leaf.
• Ensure the leaf is well attached by sewing in and out along the edges.
• Fasten off and weave in the ends.
