A new season calls for a new DIY bicycle basket decoration. Rather than going for a themed basket, I made these flowers from my yarn scraps.
The Crochet flower (brooch) pattern is from Simply Crochet Magazine Issue 5.
Pretty huh? And the sun was still shining in Cambridge this weekend, so I took a few trips out on my bicycle to run errands.
If you are looking for inspiration for how to decorate a bike basket, you could take a look at my past posts:

I also used some more scraps (of Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino) to make a Crochet Camera Strap (from Simply Crochet Issue 10).
It’s been a crochet kind of month! I started a knitting project this weekend which challenged me a little. I’ve neglected my knitting needles for a while now so it’s good to get back into it.
Keep an eye out for a crochet flower pattern coming to the blog later this week.
Toodles!
I love the flowers, but please tell me more about the bike. it’s beautiful.
Thank you 🙂 It is a dutch bike from Holland. Very heavy to ride and not good for hilly areas, but it’s a pleasure to cycle around Cambridge on it!
Hi Claire,
I’ve also gone crochet mad,now I know I can remember how to crochet. I was taught many years ago by my then mother-in-law! I’m making lots of granny squares – blue at the moment. I overheard a conversation my daughter was having with her twin brother – ‘you don’t understand Paul, now Mum’s started crocheting again, she doesn’t seem able to stop…..’ – I did have to smile! love Ellen x
Lovely to hear you have picked up crochet again – you are hooked (terrible joke I know!). x
love the flowers, the bike looks like too much hard work!!.. namaste’
Super cute! Really want to decorate my bike’s basket some day soon…and have a go at your camera strap tutorial! Projects for the future me-thinks.

I love how you change your bike decorations each season. How fun! 🙂
