Styling The Seasons – March

It’s time for another Styling The Seasons post. March is wonderful as it is officially the start of Spring and I can finally ditch the winter coat! We were so lucky to have a total eclipse on the Spring Equinox last week, but sadly it was too cloudy to see anything here in Cambridge. Did you catch a glimpse where you were?

Anyway, Spring for me is about rearranging and updating my home. I like to refresh spaces by making small changes to decor items. Nothing drastic, just a chance to see or display items in a different way. This month, I chose to style my pegboard in the Claireabellemakes studio. (Links to where I purchased the pegboard etc are in my studio tour post).

Styling-A-Pegboard

It looks slightly different to when I first shared the studio tour in that I purchased a little caged display shelf from Tiger to pop my succulent plant on. I usually change the print displayed on my clipboard every few months. The Dream Big print is from my Lucky Dip Club box. I think the purple storage basket was also from Tiger – it holds all my stationery bits and bobs.

Of course I need my pegboard to be functional, but I want it to look nice too!

My plant used to live closer to the window. I am hoping that moving it to this new spot will remind me to water it more often as it looks a bit neglected at the moment (I am hopeless!).

I did wonder if this part of the pegboard was a bit overloaded with pink, but some how I think it works! Perhaps I’ll change the cross stitch initial colour soon. What do you think?

What does March mean to you? I’m continuing my home changes with a clear out in the studio too. Would you guys be interested in a little stash sale at all? My yarn supplies are seriously out of control……

Styling The Seasons – February

Styling-The-Seasons-February-Claireabellemakes

This month for the Styling The Seasons challenge, I struggled to find what February meant to me.  We celebrate pancake day, Valentines and also our anniversary (12 years!) and it all revolves around food. So February is usually the month we eat a ton.

This month I chose the dining table and kept things as simple as possible. I liked the dim morning light when I shot this at the weekend.Pancake-Stack-with-Butterscotch-Sauce

These pancakes with butterscotch sauce were promptly scoffed after the shoot. Daffodils are always perfect for brightening a room and I love how affordable they are too. I buy myself flowers every week as I find them good for my mood!Valentines-Cards-Wool-You-Be-MineG and I will usually just exchange Valentines cards and have a steak dinner and movie night at home. He nailed it with my card this year (from Paperchase) – I think it is obvious which card he gave me! Styling-The-Seasons-February

What does February mean to you? After this week I need to get back to healthy eating. Although the neighbours invited us over to a pancake party last night…..

Styling The Seasons – January

Firstly, a big hello to the flurry of new followers. So great to have you here!

The start of 2015 has been refreshing. I have finally recharged my batteries and my body is feeling better since following a healthy eating plan and lots more walking.

This ‘fresh’ feeling is my inspiration for this month’s Styling The Seasons post.

Tea-Solves-All

Loose tea is a beautiful thing. Not only to drink, but also to look at. All the different colours and textures do make for a pretty photo I think! I store all my teas in glass kilner jars with painted chalkboard lids.Camomile-Rose-Loose-Tea

I would love to keep a plant alive this year. I have an aversion to gardening or nuturing plants. I figured a succulent is low maintenance enough for me to get it right this time. We’ll see.Succulent-PlantThere are links below to where I got these items from, in case you are wondering where you can find such a beautiful teapot.
