My Cambridge Commute By Bike

I hope you’ve all had a super Easter weekend. We caught up on things at home and watched movies. We finally watched Frozen and I really hope it is made into a West End show soon. AMAZING!

Today I want to share with you some photos. G and I have been taking an online photography class for the last few weeks, and although we are a bit behind, (silly life getting in the way) I’m definitely understanding my camera more.

3 years ago, I decided to give up the train commute to London and found a day job in Cambridge. It was one of the best things I ever did. Not only has it saved me £5000 a year(!) but it has been a lifestyle change and I get to enjoy the most wonderful commute ever. Here are the best bits of my journey by bicycle…..

It’s tourist season already, so I do have to ring my bike bell often to clear the path!

Florence has a pretty seat but it’s not actually that comfy for long rides. Luckily my commute is 7 minutes door to door.

The Cambridge Museum of Technology towers above the riverside.

There are always rowers on the river at any time of the day.

Cambridge does flowers really well. Florence and I stop often, just to enjoy them.

You could mistake this park for Amsterdam there are so many beautiful tulips.

Blossom never gets old! My Instagram feed is filled with it as everyone I follow agrees.

Punters are out in force already. Bring on summer – I can now navigate a punt confidently (only took me 6 years and a lot of bumping into the bank).

I’ve taken lunch breaks on this bench, it’s a perfect spot for quiet time.

It helps that it is Spring right now too! Obviously for my second job at Claireabellemakes I have a home studio. I will be sharing it really soon after a little makeover!

You can catch up on all my Cambridge themed posts here.

How do you commute to work? I’d love to hear in the comments below.

Spring Flowers  Cambridge Springtime  Spring by the river

Thanks for bearing with me during my short hiatus and for all your lovely messages. I’ve decided I’m going to be taking it slowly now as I’m still not 100% and feel pretty exhausted. The rest was much appreciated and I’ll definitely be scheduling some ‘offline days’ to make sure I switch off from time to time.

I soon have some time off the day job which I am really looking forward to. I am planning on a spring clean and mass clear out at home (depending on energy levels) and hope some sunny days will arrive for a few walks. Cambridge looks so pretty in the sunshine don’t you think?

So what happened whilst I was away?! Keep an eye on the blog this week to find out.

I launched a giveaway to win one of two cross stitch iPhone cases in conjunction with Craft Candy. Please enter here!

The Etsy shop remains open and this week I am preparing for a craft market – details below. Crafty Glitten and I are stall sharing for this one and it looks to be great fun!
