September Favourites 2014

This weekend I had an an exciting photo shoot with Lucinda Price Photography to get some new images for my rebrand coming soon. I can’t wait to launch with a fresh new look. In the meantime, take a look at this month’s favourites which are mostly crafty hurrah!

I’ve been doing quite a bit of jewellery making for Christmas presents already so my jewellery tools set has been getting lots of use.

I decided to keep them on hand with some hooks on my new Pegboard. I’ll be sharing a full studio tour here on the blog soon, I promise!

Mollie Makes have been killing it with their one off special magazines which have included DIY fashion, Photography and soon the Christmas title yay! I thoroughly enjoyed the latest version of Mollie Makes Home which included the first ever print copy of 91 Magazine.

Mollie Makes Home

I also treated myself to a new book from Kat Goldin. Her crochet title Hook, Stitch and Give is a great book for someone wanting to move on from beginners projects. I can’t wait to start the cabled blanket project as it looks super cosy. A gift for me I think!

Plus who can resist brown paper packagaing tied up with string?!

Continuing the wooly theme, I’ve been knitting up a cowl with my Wool and the Gang yarn purchased from the Handmade Fair. It is SO snuggly. Chunky knitting is awesome because you can usually finish something like a scarf in an evening!

I’ve also been enjoying getting some bits and bobs for the business! New cards arrived for the Cambridge Craft Parties which I will pass out at Cambridge fairs and will pop in local online orders.

Running a craft business is a great excuse to buy fabric too! I’ve been working on some options for my Scrabble Wall Art frames and visited Backstitch and Plush Addict’s online stores to stock up.

These are the options available. I’d love to know your favourite one and what words you would spell out!

Thanks for letting me share my September favourites today. I’d love to know what you’ve been loving over the last month.

Instalife August 2014

I had two migraines in August. Two.

Taking a week off the day job no doubt helped, but I’m not 100% sure what has changed. Maybe it’s the time of year, maybe the meds worked, it’s hard to tell. I was having 2-3 attacks per week last year.

August has been my best month in a really long time and I’m happy to share what I got up to via my Instagram snaps.

I’ve worked hard on the craft studio and shared snippets here and there. A full reveal post is coming, I promise.

The Etsy store has been a little quieter, so I’ve worked on Scrabble Wall Art orders and product development for Christmas (yes, small businesses need to plan that far ahead!).

Cambridge has been good to me and always provides joy even on a rainy day. I just make the most of it by putting on my wellies and stomping through the (deep) puddles to get pick and mix from the shops.

After a little flooding along the river, we are back to normal levels and I’ve been out and about on Florence.

In August I got my baking mojo back! I made merringues, scones and foraged for apples to start crumble season early. I’m updating my recipe book and giving my kitchen a little refresher with some pretty purchases. It feels good.

I’ve had dates with G (sushi is our fave), sweet shop visits with my dad and virgin cocktails with my bestie for her 30th.

On the blog there have been Filofax and stationery posts, handmade finds, news of a book release, DIYs and fashion wish lists. 4 posts a week now and I couldn’t love blogging more.

Oh, and Tammy keeps falling asleep with her tongue out #cuteoverload.

So there you have it! August has reminded me of how it feels to be healthy. I never take it for granted when I feel well, I just feel lucky and enjoy the moment in case the next bad spell is on its way.

Here’s to a happy and productive September for all of you too.
