Pom Pom DIYs and #WorldPomination

If you’ve been around for a while, you know I’m a big fan of pom poms. Today’s post is a round up of some ace Pom pom DIYs I found on Pinterest as well as a little bit about #WorldPomination!

1. Pom Pom Chandelier / 2. Pom Pom Fridge Magnets / 3. Pom Pom Bike Basket

4. Pom Pom Sun Hat / 5.  Pom Pom Wreath / 6. Pom Pom Ice Cream Garland

7. Pom Pom Flower Vase / 8. Pom Pom Shadow Box / 9. Pom Pom Fruit

Some of the tutorials are in different languages but I find a great tip for browsing blogs is to use the Google Chrome browser which automatically translates languages. All these tutorials have some good clear photos to follow along with too.

So, I also mentioned #WorldPomination too! What’s that all about then?!

Kirstie Allsopp and the iconic Radley Dog recently hopped on a boat adorned with pom poms to travel along the Thames in London to Hampton Court Palace. All in aid of the World Record attempt for the longest Pompom chain at The Handmade Fair.

How fun are these photos?!

The guys at Handmade Fair have also collated a list of Twitter’s top 100 crafters. I’m so chuffed to appear on the Handmade 100 list! Thank you if you nominated me, I so appreciate it as there are some amazing creatives to follow on the list.

Pom Pom Sun Hat

I’m not sure what it is about pom poms that makes them so addictive. If you read my holiday post, you will know that I recently visited Cyprus (and got some amazing pom pom slippers). As it was our 4th time to the island, I knew it would be very hot and that I’d need a sun hat. A pom pom sun hat.

My hat was pretty standard with a flower decoration (I actually purchased it in Cyprus in 2013!).

I was ruthless and ripped that right off and decided to make it waaaay more cheery with some pink and cream pom poms. I used some cotton yarn from my scraps and glue gunned them on. Easy!

I like to make pom poms using the Clover Pom-Pom Maker. Such a good little invention! My pal Leanne wrote a helpful blog post on how to use one.

I may add more for my next holiday, what do you think?!

Here’s a little snap from my Instagram of the hat enjoying the sun.

I love pom poms so much I even made a Pinterest board for them. I’d love to see any pom pom DIYs you have found too! Please share in the comments below or Tweet me!

I’ll leave you now with a photo of my new love. The pom pom slippers.
