Planner Geek Out #4

For today’s post I’m sharing a new to me planner range – the Webster’s Pages Colour Crush Spring line. You might know that I’m a ring bound planner girl, so I picked up the platinum rose and blush and gold dot A5 planners, but these are also available as Travellers Notebooks too. Webster's-Pages-Colour-Crush-Planners-Unboxing

Webster’s Pages have reps who sell on their behalf and often take pre-orders. I ordered these via The Ink Road which is a US shop, but there are some UK stores such as Mrs Brimbles also selling the Webster’s Pages ranges.

Each planner comes in a box and with a charm. They are really well made and the inserts are super pretty! I actually switched from my Paperchase inserts because the Webster’s Pages ones are not lined and have more space in the weekend sections which I prefer.

One thing I like is the amount of pockets on the inside cover. Lots of space for sticky notes, business cards and clips!

The dashboard and dividers are well designed and are great if you aren’t keen on making your own as the tabs are blank.

And the paper quality is very nice. I used a Papermate Flair pen and there was no ghosting.

I’m always having a metallic moment, so I used some copper washi tapes from Unwrap Colour alongside some peach stickers from kikki.K to decorate. Sharing my weekly layouts on Instagram has been really great for motivating me to keep my planner looking pretty.

The only downside to ordering from The Ink Road was customs fees as the package came from the USA. However, Lara included some cute extras (cactus pen!!) which I wasn’t expecting.

I also recently purchased some cute planner clips from Cherry Blossom In The Market Square to use as page markers.

Planner-ClipsMy planner collection has really grown in the last 5 years! Some of these were gifts from brands, but I do think of them as accessories and like to switch them regularly – the joys of having a ring bound planner!

I’d definitely recommend the Webster’s Pages Colour Crush Planners. So far I’m really liking them, even if they are ever so slightly bigger than my kikki.K and Filofax planners.

For those of you that are kikki.K fans like me, I’m told there is a rose gold planner being released next week as well as a lilac one with gold dots.

I also filmed an unboxing video for the Webster’s Pages Colour Crush planners, so please do watch below if you like that kind of thing or you can find a link to the video here.

I have also been joining in some planner groups on Facebook lately and have noticed a few Planner Cons are being planned for the UK this year. After watching recent US Planner Con Geaux Wild, I think there are exciting times ahead for planner nerds to meet and share their passion.

Planner Geek Out #3

For my last post of National Stationery Week 2016 I thought I would share a few of my planner layouts and new stationery items I’ve picked up over the last month or two. I usually share my weekly planner layout on Instagram too, as I am finding it is good motivation for updating my planner regularly.

Watermelon washi and stickers – Sew Crafty / Planner Charm – Claireabellemakes

Gold Gel Pen – kikki.K / Perforated Blue Planner – kikki.K

I also tested out some *planner layout prototypes for Mark+Fold. The paper quality was SO nice.Paperchase-Bloggers-Journal

*Bloggers Journal & Sticky Notes – Paperchase

This journal is pretty ace as it has loads of different pages for planning and promoting your content, as well as goal setting and strategy for your blog and monthly calendar layouts. Plus the leaf design is gorgeous!

Inside-The-Paperchase-Bloggers-PlannerEvery planner girl needs stickers too right? My favourites are hand illustrated ones, usually from Etsy designers.

Illustrated Planner Stickers – Hello Petite Paper

Thanks for letting me geek out about stationery this week. It’s basically like Christmas for me! I did get some awesome new washi tape, but I plan to share that in my monthly favourites post next week.

I hope you all have a super weekend. I’m off to a knitting course on an alpaca farm and I can’t wait. More on that soon!

Planner Geek Out #2

Time for a planner update! Since my first Planner Geek Out post, I’ve sold my peach planner (the colour wasn’t quite right for me) and now I’ve moved into the kikki.K Wellness Planner with Paperchase inserts and a previous (sweary) dashboard. The Scrabble charm is from my shop and the Bow Paper Clips are Kate Spade.

I’m still using my weekly layouts for to do lists and as an appointments calendar. It seems to be working so far. Each week I’ve been sharing my planner decoration on Instagram which I’ve really enjoyed. I love these donut themed stickers I got in a Lucky Dip Club box!
Planner Layour Week 8

Most weeks have included motivational sticker quotes and washi, so nothing too complicated. I have considered going back to Bullet Journalling to explore doodling and list making some more, but I need to think about how I incorporate that into a 6 ring binder – it’s definitely my go to planner type!

I recently picked up some new stamps, ribbon, washi tape and scrapbook papers at Hobbycraft and I’m thinking about making some new planner dividers from the papers. Would you guys be interested in some DIYs for customising your planner?

I’ve still been using The Happiness Planner for gratitude journalling each night before bed. I’ve only missed one day when I was in bed with migraine all day. It does mean I duplicate some of what I record in my ring bound planner (to dos / schedule etc), so I’ve been considering using this Three Good Things notebook from Lollipop as an alternative. However, I also use The Happiness Planner to note any struggles throughout the day and it is useful to review my month each time. More thought required here!Three-Good-Things-Notebook

At the moment I weirdly feel too busy to plan effectively, so I want to keep searching for efficient ways to plan my time, especially now I’m taking on more work and planning lots of new products for the shop!

The Makers Gonna Make notebook is where I plan all my new product ideas – sketching them out and costing the supplies etc.

I asked on social media whether people preferred spiral or staple binding and plain or lined paper. What do you think?

kikki.K Wellness Planner And Stationery Haul

Without sounding like a broken record, I have some stationery inspiration for you today! kikki.K kindly sent me some of their latest ranges to share with you including the beautiful Wellness Planner.

It is similar in concept to The Happiness Planner, but is a ring bound planner which allows it to be customised to your life.

With pages on mindfulness, gratitude, nutrition, exercise and habit tracking, it’s a planner for self care with a ton of pretty pastel pages to keep you inspired. Kikki.K-Wellness-Planner-Gratitude

Feel free to watch my full (detailed!) walk through over on my YouTube channel here or by clicking the video below.

I am still really enjoying the goals journal (the giveaway at this link is open until 21 Feb!) and the Live What You Love book is filled with pretty gold foil stickers.

They are perfect stickers for planner decoration and if you like to include a little inspiration in your weekly layouts. Gold-Foil-Sticker-Book-Kikki.k

I tried the Christmas kikki.K Paper Lover’s Book which I really enjoyed! Each one is filled with gift wrap, tags, stickers, cards and fun paper projects to try. The one below is from their ‘Cute’ range and has a ton of different colour schemes.kikki.K-Paper-Lovers-Book-Tags

They had 3 for 2 on greetings cards when I shopped in the London store.You're-Simply-Lovely-Card

My studio has changed colour scheme for 2016 so these magazine files will fit in really well! I am sure pretty stationery motivates me to keep organised with my accounts or is it just me!?Pink-Magazine-Files-kikk.K

I considered writing a whole post just about pens as I really haven’t found anywhere else that does gel pens as well as kikki.K! The gold one is currently also available in silver and copper *SWOON*.

I initially thought I could use this coloured felt pen set for my colouring books, but I’m trialing colour coding in my planner at the moment, so they are perfect for that.kikki.k-Colour-Felt-Pens

The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin has been on my to read list for a while. When I saw this limited edition version I got started on it straight away. So far, so good!

Thanks for letting me share these goodies today! As always, items can be found on the kikki.K website, but please be aware they release new products every two weeks(!) so stuff can go out of stock pretty quickly. I guess it’s a good strategy to keep people like me (aka stationery addicts) looking at every single collection they bring out ha!

I am also really excited about sharing some indie stationery designers with you soon, so stayed tuned!

*Some items in this post (but not all) were provided to me free of charge by kikki.K. Read more about my disclosure policy here. A big thanks to all the brands that help keep Claireabellemakes a creatve place!

Planner Geek Out #1

Today I want to share with you the planners I am using for 2016. Yes, that was plural. As I work full-time, run Claireabellemakes as a side hustle and have a life to live alongside it, I’m upping my planner game this year. I’m running 3 planners and so far it’s working and not taking too much time apart from the initial set up.

My day-to-day planner is the Kikki.K Large Perforated Leather Planner in peach. It is the same as my ice blue version and I’m largely running it as I did last year. It is divided into calendar, blog, business, finances, health and notes.

You can watch my full set-up video here if you like that kind of thing (I love watching these kind of videos for planner ideas and inspiration!).

Next up is the Craftsposure business planner for 2016. Here’s where I can go into more detail for my business plans and map out goals and growth over the year. This planner is book bound and really good value.  It also includes features such as a marketing calendar, statistics tracking and budget sheets.

I may share a video of this in the near future, so do subscribe to my You Tube channel if you want to see more. I think the planner is also on offer with free worldwide shipping at the moment too. How nice are the inside covers?!

Finally, I am also using The Happiness Planner. If you want to see a full review you can see a post here which also includes a video walk through. I use the planner just before I sleep to reflect on my day and note the happy moments.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how happy my year was at the end on 2016 as I will have documented every day! I am also thinking about sharing an updated video of the planner one month in, so let me know if you would be interested in seeing that.

You might be wondering what I am doing with the rest of my planner collection. Don’t worry they are making themselves useful by holding inserts from last year, important paperwork and spare paper!

Planner Geek Out will be a new series for 2016 and will replace the Filofax Inspiration series. I hope you guys will enjoy it! Do let me know in the comments if there is anything planner related that you are interested in seeing. Any excuse to share my obsession eh?!
