New In Store: Planner Pins

If you follow along on social media, you may have already seen the newest Claireabellemakes products – the planner pins! I’m pretty excited about this collection as it is the perfect way for me to express my stationery passion and obsession for planners.

Each pin started from a sketch, which was then digitised and colour matched. The planner binder and heart each have subtle yellow glitter and the Bullet Journal banner is finished with gold edging. SHOP- Planner Pin Launch for blog (1)

The Happiness Planner – The Peony Planner

Even though the first month of 2017 is almost over, it’s not too late to think about using a planner to help you in certain areas of your life. I have always been someone who functions better with thoughts and goals on paper and The Happiness Planner is one I have used for my emotional health since 2015.

The Peony Planner is a planner like no other. Previously, The Happiness Planner has been available as a hard bound and spiral bound planner and this year they have added a ring bound planner that looks like a clutch bag. I LOVE IT.The-Peony-Planner-Peach-Blue

The planner focuses on the things each day that make you happy. You are encouraged to practice daily gratitude journalling and to create a ‘Happiness Roadmap’. Each month you review your happiness.

The Peony Planner has the same inserts as the 2016 spiral planner but they are condensed to fit into this A5 spiral bound. They are available dated and un-dated.

This a great planner for those of you wanting to avoid Leather too as it is made from Saffiano Faux Leather. It comes in the following colour ways.

  • Pink & Cream with Pink interior (gold)
  • Blue & Peach with Blue interior (gold)
  • Lavender & Mint with Lavender interior (gold)
  • Black with Black interior (Rose Gold)

The magnetic closure of the Peony Planner makes it feel like a clutch bag but as soon as you open it up you will find sticker sheets,  internal pockets, a pretty dashboard and dividers.  It feels pretty special!

The Happiness Planner website has a ton of inspiration for living a happy life including a blog, lots more planners and even printables and pen sets.

Thanks as ever, for letting me indulge in my stationery addiction today!

Which 2017 Planners Am I Using?

In 2016, I did a weekly project to share the decorated pages of my planner on Instagram. It was a fun, creative task which you can see the results of here. As much as I enjoyed it, I’ve decided to take a more pratical approach to planning this year. Today I’m sharing which 2017 planners I am using.

By now you will have probably gathered that I need to write things down if I have any chance of remembering them. Hence my obsession with planners. When I ask G to remind me about something, he often jokes “write it in your planner” and teases me for spending more time planning than actually doing. Joking aside, as a multi tasker and visual person, I find planning a useful tool to clarify my goals and stay productive. If it’s on a list – I’ll get it done.

So this year, I’m using three different planners. The first is the Hello Day Planner for my day-to-day life. I have reviewed this planner in full on my YouTube channel and would definitely recommend it! It is quite a big planner, so it tends to stay on my desk and I open it at the beginning and end of each day. Plus it is from a UK start-up which I am so excited to support!

I really love the day per page with to do lists, water tracking, a gratitude prompt and a 10 minute task. The 10 minute accomplishment each day has been really great as we have been using this to complete small tasks around the home that we often put off.

The next planner I am using is for strategic business planning. The Dream Plan Do Planner was a Kickstarter project from The Design Trust and I couldn’t recommend it more highly! Since I quit my PA job, I have definitely needed to think more strategically about the product side of my business because there has been a shift in motivation to make more money.

Each month has a different aspect of your business to focus on with lots of creative tasks and prompts to get you thinking and planning for the longer term. At the end of each month there are two pages to review your finances and marketing stats. I am excited to think about my business in more detail this year.

You can get 20% off any Dream Plan Do products till 31 January if you use promo code: wearefriends (not sponsored – just love this planner and wanted to share their offer!).

The final planner I am using for 2017 is a notebook. I am using a gridded Leuchtturm 1917 medium notebook as a Bullet Journal for my day to day business planning. I have struggled before with multiple notebooks for my business and planners not having the right inserts for me, but now I can design each page myself and have everything in one place! This notebook contains daily to do lists, brainstorming for products, editorial calendars, wish lists, supplier info, cash flow and invoicing and lots more! Basically anything that relates to my business that isn’t a long term goal. Possible planner peace…….? I’ll keep you posted.

So there you have it, my 2017 planners! You can also hear me chatting through these in this video if you fancy more planner content.

Are you using a planner this year?

Planner Geek Out #6

Can I just start this post by saying how much I’m LOVING all the new planners that are coming out lately? This time of year gets me thinking about what my set up will be from January and whether I need a change or to keep searching for ‘planner peace’. I’m still considering Bullet Journalling for my day-to-day organisation, but I’m undecided.

Anyway, I’ve had the pleasure of reviewing some super new planners over on my You Tube channel this month. I thought I’d share these in case you are still looking for your 2017 planner.

The first is the beautiful Hello Day Planner which is a new UK company causing quite a stir in planner circles. I say this because the designs are so stylish and planner addicts are often disheartened by many of the pretty spiral bound planners only being available in the US.

This planner has monthly, weekly and daily pages with brush lettered quotes throughout. You can check out the video below for a full review and flick through of the pages. I LOVE it and want it to be 2017 now so I can get started.

The next planner I shared is the A5 Rose Gold Saffiano planner from Filofax in the video review below. It’s such a gorgeous shiny planner, so magpies like me will love it. I am using the planner for my work at Copper Boom Studio and so far I like it. I am keeping it in a cotton bag as metallic planners tend to get scratched in my handbag.

Do let me know if there are other planners you’d like to see me review or unbox! Don’t forget to check out the rest of the Planner Geek Out series in the links below, it’s a topic I always enjoy writing about!

Planner Geek Out #5

Unlike most people, I actually really like change. I’ve always been a ring bound planner fan, which gives me the chance to update and change my set up as much as I want throughout the year. I recently set up in the new kikki.K Lavender Pink A5 planner which is another beaut in their leather planner Thrive range!kikki-k-lavender-pink-a5-planner

I’m now using an A5 ring bound planner as my ‘daily life’ planner. This includes my calendar for appointments and to-dos, as well as health tracking, budgeting and meal plans. My business planning is separate (I’m using a fauxdori but not loving it) so perhaps I’ll share more about that when I’ve found a system which really works for me.kikki-k-lavender-pink-close-up

The gold detailing on this planner is really pretty and it’s more pastel pink thatn lavender I think. I use the pockets on the inside cover for a few clips and sticky notes.planner-clips

I decided to crack out the laminator (I use this one which I love) to make my own dashboard and dividers. I found my stash of Scrabble letter stickers and some gold polka dot scrapbook paper to use.dream-big-dashboard dream-big-dashboard-close-up

I used more scrapbooking paper (12″x12″ cut down with this paper trimmer) to make the dividers. custom-planner-dividers

I decided to stick with using the Webster Pages WO2P inserts as the paper quality is nice and thick and there is plenty of space at the weekends. I got them when I purchased the Platinum Rose planner, but I hear the 2017 inserts are released next month.donut-planner-layout

The today clip is from this Etsy shop and you can find out where I get all my stickers from by watching this video on my YouTube channel. I’ll be filming lots more planner videos soon. today-planner-clip

If you want to see my full set up of the kikki.K Lavender Pink planner, check out the video below!

Thanks for letting me share today! I hope you all have a fantastic weekend. I’m off on the Cambridge Creatives Photowalk tomorrow, so fingers crossed for good weather….
