Kikki.K London Goals Workshop

Last week Kate and I attended a Goals Workshop at Kikki.K London which was the first UK workshop they had ever run! Even though I have already set some goals for 2016, I wanted to use the workshop as an opportunity to look at my big dreams and of course do a little stationery shopping.

You might say I am a bit of a Kikki.K fan girl. There are only a few brands that I buy into with such loyalty, but I really do appreciate their mission and find the story of how the business began really inspiring.

Our workshop leader was Morgan who began by sharing with us her story of how she came to work for Kikki.K and her personal journey of meeting her partner and travelling the world. We were each gifted a Goals Journal which we were guided through, along with champagne, chocolates and strawberries.

Firstly, we were tasked with determining our core values choosing 20 meaningful words from a big list, then just 10, and finally 3 for 2016. It was more difficult that we anticipated and I felt guilty eliminating certain values from my list. However, once we had finished the exercise, we realised it was a great way to reflect on what areas of our lives were currently in the foreground.

Next, we spent some time focusing on visualising what our “Dream Life” was. I’ve never approached goal setting in this way before, but really enjoyed imagining where I would like to be in a year’s time. We looked at lots of areas including what daily life would be like, who is important to us and what hobbies we enjoyed.

Morgan also suggested writing a letter to ourselves to open in a year. I hope to make some big changes to my life in 2016, so I am sure I will enjoy looking back on this section of the journal and reading what I imagined life to be like.

We discussed mood boards and using visual tools to help make sense of your goals. And of course the SMART acronym to help us achieve our goals as well as planning. The Goals Journal includes some planner pages to keep you on track and inspirational quotes to stay motivated.

One of the most useful (and simple!) things that I learnt from the workshop was to colour code different areas of your life when using a planner or to do list. That way you can evaluate how much of your time is spent on different areas, just by taking a quick glance at your layout. I will definitely take this forward for my daily planner and I am on the hunt for a good time tracking app too, so let me know if you have any recommendations!

Kikki.K-Goals-Journal-Gold-PenAfter the workshop we had the store to ourselves for some shopping! We looked at the new Valentines collection which is super cute and simplistic, using a classic red and white colour scheme. Of course Kate and I were like magpies drawn to all the gold and copper foiled stationery.

You can see more of the stationery goodies on offer in the video below and I’ll be sharing a haul post very soon including some wonderful things Kikki.K sent me specifically to share with you guys!

Cute-Valentines-Stationery-Kikki.KThe video below also shares snippets of the workshop and the Kikki.K London Store (Covent Garden). I am really enjoying creating content for YouTube at the moment, so please do check out my channel and subscribe if you like what you see!

Lastly, I have a Goals Journal I’d like to give away to one of you to say thank you for all your support! Just enter on the widget below and I’ll send it your way if you are the lucky winner picked at random. Giveaway ends 22 February 2016.

Planner Geek Out #1

Today I want to share with you the planners I am using for 2016. Yes, that was plural. As I work full-time, run Claireabellemakes as a side hustle and have a life to live alongside it, I’m upping my planner game this year. I’m running 3 planners and so far it’s working and not taking too much time apart from the initial set up.

My day-to-day planner is the Kikki.K Large Perforated Leather Planner in peach. It is the same as my ice blue version and I’m largely running it as I did last year. It is divided into calendar, blog, business, finances, health and notes.

You can watch my full set-up video here if you like that kind of thing (I love watching these kind of videos for planner ideas and inspiration!).

Next up is the Craftsposure business planner for 2016. Here’s where I can go into more detail for my business plans and map out goals and growth over the year. This planner is book bound and really good value.  It also includes features such as a marketing calendar, statistics tracking and budget sheets.

I may share a video of this in the near future, so do subscribe to my You Tube channel if you want to see more. I think the planner is also on offer with free worldwide shipping at the moment too. How nice are the inside covers?!

Finally, I am also using The Happiness Planner. If you want to see a full review you can see a post here which also includes a video walk through. I use the planner just before I sleep to reflect on my day and note the happy moments.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how happy my year was at the end on 2016 as I will have documented every day! I am also thinking about sharing an updated video of the planner one month in, so let me know if you would be interested in seeing that.

You might be wondering what I am doing with the rest of my planner collection. Don’t worry they are making themselves useful by holding inserts from last year, important paperwork and spare paper!

Planner Geek Out will be a new series for 2016 and will replace the Filofax Inspiration series. I hope you guys will enjoy it! Do let me know in the comments if there is anything planner related that you are interested in seeing. Any excuse to share my obsession eh?!

New Year Planner Layouts

Since I started my You Tube Channel, I’ve realised that people LOVE planner videos. Now I’ll admit, I’m definitely part of the planner geek community, but I never expected some of my planner videos to get over 35,000 views!

For 2016, I want to share more planner content and will attempt to share my weekly planner layouts on Instagram. I take time to decorate them and create new themes each week – any excuse to buy cute tape eh?

My week 2 layout has a completely different style and you will see I’ve switched into a new planner, a leather peach one from the Kikki.K sale. I plan to share a video soon with a walk through of my set up for the year.

You can see more photos of this layout and how I created the elements using die cutting techniques on the Sizzix blog here.

Don’t forget there is a Sizzix giveaway which you can enter until 22 January by clicking the link at the end of this post!

Kikki-K London Launch And Stationery Haul

If you’ve been following this blog for a while, you will know I’m a big fan of Australian stationery and homewares brand Kikki-K. I currently use a Kikki-K planner and it seems a lot of people are fans too – over 30,000 people have watched my unboxing video of the Perforated Blue Leather Planner on YouTube!!

So, when I heard about the London pop-up store opening, I knew I had to go and visit and share it with everyone! I’ll start with my haul because everything is SO PRETTY (and I didn’t have to pay customs fees yay!), then you can watch my vlog from the members event at the London pop-up store at the end.

I was thrilled to meet founder Kristina Karlsson and her wonderful family at the event and to say the staff at the London store are nice is an understatement. There are only a handful of brands I will buy into with such loyalty and I’m excited to hear that Kikki-K will be expanding further in the UK (don’t worry I asked for a Cambridge store!).

Thanks for letting me share my stationery obsession with you today!

*This is not a sponsored post, nor was I given any items for free. I chose to support Kikki K because they are an amazing brand with quality products. LOOK AT THAT TEAPOT FOR GOODNESS SAKE!
