November Favourites 2014

This month has been rather busy, but some lovely things have come my way. Here are my favourites for November.

This wonderful bunch of flowers were given to me by my Mum when I hosted a family lunch. Who knew cabbages were so pretty?! Family days are also one of my favourites, especially when we eat tons of sandwiches, take my niece and nephew to the park and discuss the wonder of handmade gifts with my Grandad.Cabbage-Bloom-FlowersWhen my Grandad visited, he gave me this frame which my Nan had displayed in her sewing room. I remember it fondly and the messy scene reminds me of the ‘craftermath’ in my studio which happens often. I shall treasure it.Sewing-Room-Sign I have kept up my monthly subscription to the Lucky Dip Club and it just keeps getting better and better! The Diner themed box for November included a gold donut necklace which I’ve hardly taken off. Leona has been getting a lot of press and she so deserves it – the boxes are ace!Lucky-Dip-Club-Diner-Box One of the items in the diner box was this amazing ice cream sundae tea towel.Lucky-Dip-Club-Sundae-Tea-Towel OK so maybe I love subscription boxes….but the Kawaii box is too cute and super afforable. Obviously the Pocky gets eaten way before I have a chance to photograph the box contents. Kawaii-Box-Subscription Beauty favourites this month include this Body Shop mango hand cream, No7 Damson Dream nail polish and the Seche Vite Top Coat.Beauty-Favourites-November I had some Not On The High Street vouchers to spend this month, so I treated myself to some new bamboo calligraphy pens from Kate Moby’s store. I plan to practice in my handmade sketch book which I made using the japanese stab binding technique.

Bamboo-Calligraphy-Pens I did a lot of calligraphy as a child but I’d like to learn the modern styles now. My sister got me a fab book my my birthday so I hope to have some time over the holidays to try it out.
Calligraphy-Pens I also spent my voucher on some Cable and Cotton String Lights as I’ve wanted some for ages. I think they make the studio desk space much cosier.Cable-And-Cotton-Lights-StudioI’ll be back tomorrow with the first of my Christmas gift guides.

Stationery and Handmade Subscription Boxes

I have tried out lots of different subscription boxes over the last couple of years. They seemed to start out in the beauty industry, but now handmade, stationery and craft boxes are giving the beauty companies a run for their money. You can even get them for tea lovers these days and I love the idea of this Try The World food one.

I thought you guys would like to see the contents of my current stationery and handmade themed subscription boxes. Starting with the Kawaii Box for July.

When there are items which are not really for me, I will use them for gifts (although I keep ALL THE STICKERS). Love this macaron eraser to add to my collection.

The August Kawaii Box had a make your own candy kit, stationery and plushies.

I adore the macaron themed items of course. After conversion, this box actually works out about £10 including postage.

Next up is the Lucky Dip Club Subscription Box. This one is receiving a lot of press so I’m glad I signed up early from the very first box. The July theme was Pet Parade.

Tammy got a gift in this one! Each box contains a personalised item which Leona makes for almost 400 subscribers!

The August box was Ice Cream themed which I adored. You can buy individual items and past Lucky Dip Club boxes here.

The packaging is always so well thought out and I have to be so restrained to photograph items before I carefully unpack them.

I adore the personalised ice cream necklace and pins. The theme for the next box is Woodland I believe.

After much experimentation with sub boxes, I can honestly say that these two are my favourite so far. They just contain so much cute!

You can find more of my posts on subscription boxes here. I’d love to hear your recommendations in the comments below.

Toodles!
