If you follow me on any of my social media links, you will have seen me sharing lots of freebies and giveaways from Sizzix this week. Die cutting has definitely become a favourite craft of mine since I started working with Sizzix, as the project possibilities are so vast!
Today I’m sharing details of an exclusive giveaway to win a Sizzix Big Shot Plus machine of your own. This is the exact die cutting machine I use and I love it!
This week I was kindly offered some credit with Snapfish to try out their new Slim canvasses and other products. I’ve used Snapfish before to have photographs printed (mostly for my Project Life scrapbook), but I wasn’t aware of just how many products you could have your photographs printed onto! I’m thinking I need a Claireabellemakes mug for the studio!?!
Anyway, I decided to work on turning existing designs into a different format to make some prototypes. Firstly, I had the Dream Big print made into a slim canvas. I was really pleased with the results.
I’ve been brainstorming new product ideas for 2016 and have decided on releasing stationery products. It makes sense seeing as I am such a stationery geek and I imagine a lot of my customers are too! The second product I ordered was some prototype spiral notebooks made from the Makers Gonna Make Print.
I think both products have turned out really well and the quality is excellent. The canvas has really stayed true to the original colours and is vivid and crisp. The notebooks have a glossy finish and are lined inside – I think they will be perfect notebooks for creatives. I’m thinking of some new designs for notebooks too. What do you think?
Testing out my own products is a really important part of product development and I try my hardest to find the best suppliers so that I can offer quality products to my customers. One of the best things about running a shop selling your own designs, is getting repeat customers. It’s validation you’re doing something right!
I’m also working on some updates to the keyrings in my shop as I would like them to be more robust and to raise the quality a little more. Watch this space!
In the meantime, I’ll be giving away a notebook to one lucky reader. All you need to do is list a product idea you think I should make in the comments below and I’ll pick my favourite on Friday 27th November 2015 at 5pm. Don’t forget to leave your email address too so I can contact you!
THE LUCKY WINNER WAS JOANNA FROM ADVENTURES AND TEA PARTIES!
Oh and one last thing, I’m off to an awards ceremony tomorrow as I’ve been nominated for a Cambridgeshire Digital Award for Business Blog. Wish me luck!

As you may know, I’ve been working for Sizzix since February this year on their UK Design Team. I’ve learnt so much about die cutting and have enjoyed using their products to create simple craft projects that anyone can do, regardless of their die cutting experience.
I was thrilled to see so many people learning to use the Sizzix Big Shot when I visited The Handmade Fair and I’m excited to share with you an exclusive giveaway that is only for followers of Sizzix bloggers! You can win a Big Shot Starter Kit by entering the competition below.
The giveaway is open to UK and EU residents and the closing date is Friday 6th November 2015 at 10am GMT. Good luck!
This week I found out about The Decorative Living Fair which is coming back to Chelsea Old Town Hall on 6th October 2015. The lovely folk running the fair have given me a pair of tickets to giveaway to my readers! I’m really gutted I can’t attend as there are vintage items and decorative antiques on offer, alongside pieces from new designer makers.
I’m told that if you are a blogger, freelancer or stylist, this is a great place for networking too!
The organisers strive to seek out new dealers and designer-makers who find the larger fairs prohibitively expensive, or to smaller dealers who do not normally exhibit in London. This is one of the reasons I like the idea behind the fair – trade shows and the like can be so expensive, so it gives the small business a chance.
So fancy a free day out to have a look around all the beautiful things on offer? It looks like a really good opportunity for shopping if you like interiors!
To enter, just leave a comment telling me what home wares you would look out for at the fair. I’ll pick one winner at random on Sunday 4 October at 9pm. So be quick!! (Genuine UK entrants only please). Feel free to share the giveaway on social media too. You can also comment on the giveaway post on my Instagram for an additional entry.
This giveaway is now closed. The winner was Ruth Hensman!
I’m pleased I was able to share this with you today, as I love disovering new events. Don’t forget if you’re into supporting designer makers, you can find me at the Crafty Fox Market in Peckham on 10 October. More info here!
