UPDATE: Crafty Magazine is no longer in print.
A new magazine has hit the shelves! Crafty Magazine Issue One is out now with issue two coming very soon. As someone who loves a craft mag, I jumped at the chance to share this one with you guys.
Packed full of DIYs including 5 ways to personalise your converse trainers, right through to geometric botanical sculpture, it’s rare to find a magazine with such a range of crafts and inspiration.
With a slight hipster vibe, the first issue comes with some natural calico fabric and ideas to make embroidered covered buttons and brooches.
The articles are current, fresh and interesting. I particularly enjoyed Stephanie de Geus’ story about her vintage camera collection and the regular column from cross stitch extraordinaire Mr X Stitch.
The magazine wins brownie points by sharing National Stationery Week and there are projects covering crochet, knitting, felt, sewing and even a David Bowie paper doll. Awesome. As a self titled “all-rounder” in the craft world, I hadn’t found a magazine that speaks to all my interests. Until now!
Overall, the magazine has a great balance of DIY projects and creative articles and is littered with tips throughout. Whilst I buy some magazines purely for inspiration, Crafty magazine hits the spot for me by providing a little bit of everything I love. With the tag line “Dream It*Make it*Love It”, it speaks to my way of thinking.
