This week I had the pleasure of attending another Cath Kidston Craft Club. The project is revealed on the evening, which always gets me wondering what we could possibly be making. Jen had picked us a fabulous project this time – Cath Kidston Fabric Doorstops!
I was so pleased to get a place for the highly popular craft club, as it was Jen’s last one as she will be moving away from Cambridge *massive sad face*. Thank you for all the fabulous evenings Jen! Do pop on over to her lovely blog and find out where she is off to and what she has been up to!
So we had some inspiration by way of this Chicken Doorstop and there was even a little pig and mouse one in progress throughout the evening. How cute!
The Cath Kidston girls are always so lovely, providing herbal tea and scrummy cakes to keep us going throughout the night. The selection of fabrics on offer always gets people excited and there is plenty of chatter and a bit of shopping too. A lovely group of ladies made for a fantastic evening.
I chose a blue and white star fabric (3rd from the back on the right in the image below) for my fabric doorstop. There were some great variations and some even learnt new skills, having never used a sewing machine before. The doorstops were filled with stuffing and rice and assembled for this very pretty photo at the end of the night!
If you fancy making your own Fabric Doorstop, you can find a pyramid shaped doorstop pattern here and the Guardian Making Time series published a Chicken Doorstop Pattern here. Let me know if you try one!
To join the mailing list for the Cambridge Cath Kidston Craft Club, please telephone the store on 01223 351810. Thank you to Leanne, Jen and the Norwich store ladies for a great evening once again!
