UPDATE: Crafty Magazine is no longer in print.
I probably say this every time, but issue 10 of Crafty Magazine is my favourite yet!! Amongst the heaps of projects and inspiration, it includes three of my favourite Etsy sellers…
Misala by Michelle Chan make the CUTEST PURSES EVER and shares a tutorial to make this horse one.
Amy Lawrence is a UK designer maker and I’ve be coveting her knitted necklaces for a while now. In the latest issue, Amy offers a simple tutorial to create a statement doily necklace.
In addition, Bex of Stuffed Nonsense (whom I met at Renegade in November) discusses bulk ordering for handmade sellers and her bricks and mortar shop By The Yard. I snapped up one of her ‘knitted and knotted’ necklaces as soon as I received any birthday money!
Issue 10 shows you all about needle weaving with a break down of stitches and plenty of inspiration.
How cute are these hot air balloon tape measure covers? Hand sewn from felt, the tutorial looks nice and simple.
And as if anyone can pass up the opportunity to prettify a house brick and make this Cath Kidston doorstop!
There are plenty of DIYs for children’s items including a mobile tutorial and these denim baby booties.
Interviews this month are with Allison Sadler and Mr Christian of The People shop and artist Tracy Lewis, who makes beautiful driftwood mirrors. Even her kitchen is made of driftwood!
The mag usually has a crochet project each month, which ticks my boxes! How cute is this crochet lion cushion on the cover? I think it would make a great gift for a toddler’s room.
Crafty Magazine is out now and is available in WHSmiths, Hobbycraft and some supermarkets.
Toodles!
