Today I’m sharing a product relaunch for the shop! For around 3 years now, I’ve stocked glitter heart pins in the Claireabellemakes Etsy store, but I wanted to revisit them to update the design a little and to make them more lightweight. It feels like I’ve been working on them a while now, but I wanted to make them just perfect! There are now 8 colours available and each pin is made from a 3mm wooden laser cut heart and covered in non shedding glitter fabric. NO MESS HERE YAY!
I really enjoy revisiting products for development, especially as I have amended the shape of the heart and updated the packaging for these glittery pins too! They are now lightweight enough to be worn with other pins in your collection so you can up your #pingame and show off your flair!
AAAAND, all UK customers will get free shipping on these sparkly gems! Always!
I might be going pin mad as I’m also working on another design which will be launched super soon……such a tease aren’t I?
Regardless of what you think about Valentines day, it’s always fun to see what designer makers come up with for different holidays! I love finding fun cards on Etsy and Julie Ann Art is one of my faves. G and I usually just exchange a silly card and have a nice steak dinner at home for Valentines as we’re not super soppy about it!
I wanted to let you know the Scrabble Inspired Valentines cards are back in the shop this year. Two designs are available; BE MINE and KISS ME. Nothing like telling someone you love what to do 😉
I have also been working on updating the glitter heart pins. They will be changing a little (the heart shape will be slightly different), but the new designs will be available in a ton more colours! There are only a couple left of the old design, so if you love those, be quick! I anticipate the new glitter heart pins will be in the shop in the next couple of weeks.
Wow I just made 700 sales in my Etsy store! I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported the shop this year – it’s been so exciting to try new products and see return customers. I have so many ideas for 2016, I can’t wait to share them with you!
Last UK Christmas orders for ready made items is Monday 21 December, so there is still time to grab a stocking filler or some Christmas cards.
All Christmas cards have been reduced to £2 each and packs of 4 are now £5! This offer will last until 1 January 2016, so stock up now! The shop wont be closing at all so you have plenty of time to shop over the holidays.
This week I was kindly offered some credit with Snapfish to try out their new Slim canvasses and other products. I’ve used Snapfish before to have photographs printed (mostly for my Project Life scrapbook), but I wasn’t aware of just how many products you could have your photographs printed onto! I’m thinking I need a Claireabellemakes mug for the studio!?!
Anyway, I decided to work on turning existing designs into a different format to make some prototypes. Firstly, I had the Dream Big print made into a slim canvas. I was really pleased with the results.
I’ve been brainstorming new product ideas for 2016 and have decided on releasing stationery products. It makes sense seeing as I am such a stationery geek and I imagine a lot of my customers are too! The second product I ordered was some prototype spiral notebooks made from the Makers Gonna Make Print.
I think both products have turned out really well and the quality is excellent. The canvas has really stayed true to the original colours and is vivid and crisp. The notebooks have a glossy finish and are lined inside – I think they will be perfect notebooks for creatives. I’m thinking of some new designs for notebooks too. What do you think?
Testing out my own products is a really important part of product development and I try my hardest to find the best suppliers so that I can offer quality products to my customers. One of the best things about running a shop selling your own designs, is getting repeat customers. It’s validation you’re doing something right!
I’m also working on some updates to the keyrings in my shop as I would like them to be more robust and to raise the quality a little more. Watch this space!
In the meantime, I’ll be giving away a notebook to one lucky reader. All you need to do is list a product idea you think I should make in the comments below and I’ll pick my favourite on Friday 27th November 2015 at 5pm. Don’t forget to leave your email address too so I can contact you!
THE LUCKY WINNER WAS JOANNA FROM ADVENTURES AND TEA PARTIES!
Oh and one last thing, I’m off to an awards ceremony tomorrow as I’ve been nominated for a Cambridgeshire Digital Award for Business Blog. Wish me luck!

I’ve been feeling all kinds of festive lately. I’ve been Christmas decoration shopping, I’ve arranged a tree delivery and I’m sending my party invite replies. Despite the studio still being a bit of a tip, I’m working on some new lines for Christmas (experimenting with stationery!)
But before I can share those with you, I wanted to let you know that the snowflake necklaces are back in stock! They are £6 and are available for a limited time only. The delicate silver coloured chain is 18″ and it’s a perfect piece of Christmas jewellery to wear if you’re feeling as festive as me.
Another non Christmas related product which is brand new to the store is the gold bicycle necklace! The silver and bronze versions are really popular as Christmas gifts, so I though it was about time I added to the collection of bicycle accessories.I’m also working on a new collection of scrabble inspired wall art frames with some metallic fabrics.
