Instalife August 2016

Yay it’s finally Autumn! As much as I love summer in Cambridge, I like the cooler weather and crispy leaves! Last night I curled up on the sofa with a blanket and it made me really happy. It means I’m closer to Bonfire Night (which is my favourite night of the year) and I get to wear jumpers and knit/crochet more! Plus, pumpkin flavoured everything.

Anywho, enough about Autumn. Here’s what I got up to August via my Instagram feed. It was a super fun month with a ton of positive moments.

Even though Instagram has gone through some changes recently, it’s still one of my favourite platforms to chat with you guys and share a bit of my world! I would love to reach 10k Instagram followers by Christmas – do you think I can do it? It’s super tough to build a following now the algorithms have changed. I’m also hoping to reach 1000 sales in my shop by the end of 2016……I’m not usually driven by  numbers but I want to finish the year on a bit of a high!

There’s still time to send a vote my way for the Amara Interior Blog Awards too! I’m up for best DIY and Craft blog for the third year running. Fingers crossed!

One last thing, If you are in the Cambridge area on Saturday 10 September or you fancy a day trip  – please join me and my fellow Cambridge creatives on an Instagram Photowalk around the city! The event is free and everyone is welcome. Find out more here.

#MarchMeetTheMaker Instagram Challenge Part 2

Rather than sharing my monthly Instalife post, I thought I’d finish the round up of my #MarchMeetTheMaker challenge on Instagram. It was a great challenge to take part in (see my first blog post introducing it here) and built a great sense of community for designer makers. I found so many new people to follow!

The challenge really got me thinking about my business and how I want to grow things this year. So far 2016 has been a blur of busy days, but I have managed 2 mini breaks so far and have had exciting opportunities come my way already.

A big thanks to Joanne Hawker for setting us this wonderful challenge! All my images have also been saved into a Facebook album here if you want to read all the captions and don’t have Instagram.MarchMeetTheMakerChallenge

Also, after this week’s Blogtacular chat and following all the Instagram drama of their changing algorithms, I’ve been trying out Snapchat to share a less styled behind the scenes look at my business. I share day in the life snaps  so feel free to add me here if you want to see something a little more fun and spontaneous! This is where I’ll probably share pictures of the messy studio and cat spam as Tammy loves to be involved. Don’t worry, I’ll still be Instagramming too!

Have a super weekend ahead and I’ll be back next week to share some DIYs I’ve been working on!

#MarchMeetTheMaker Instagram Challenge Part 1

You know when someone else has an idea that you wish you’d thought of first? That’s exactly how I felt when I discovered Joanne Hawker’s March Meet The Maker Instagram challenge. Each day makers are encourged to share a photo from a list of prompts which gives their followers an insight into their business.

It’s been such a great challenge to take part in and I’ve discovered so many talented people! Here’s a selection of my posts from the first half of the month – I’ve been kind of microblogging in the comments of each one and sharing a bit more about my inspirations and motivations behind Claireabellemakes.

Just click the image below to be taken to my Instagram to explore it a little more! Or if you prefer to use Facebook, I’ve collated a Meet The Maker album here.MarchMeetTheMakerPart1

Here are the prompts Joanne has set us and you can see all the posts by following the hashtag here. There are people joining in from all over the world and with so many different skills too!MarchMeetTheMakerChallenge

Next month will see the 4 year birthday of Claireabellemakes – how do you think we should celebrate? A giveaway, a virtual party? CAKE? Let me know your ideas in a comment below. 4 years guys!! Crazy!

Instalife February 2016

February was so busy that it kind of merged right into March and I forgot to write this blog post! My migraine head hasn’t been behaving, but I put that down to the erratic weather and my schedule adjusting to some new freelance projects I have taken on.

What did you guys do with your extra day in February? And I’m desperate to know whether any of you girls proposed to your boys on leap day?!! Here’s a peek behind the scenes in February via my Instagram snaps.
