Claireabellemakes is also home to Cambridge Craft Parties. Our craft workshops with a party feel allow you to learn a new skill or create something inspiring in a relaxed, friendly setting. Parties are usually held in Cambridge throughout the year and are open to crafters of all skill levels. Attendees will work on one or two projects at the party and will have some goodies to take home once the party is over!

The next season of parties will be announced here, but for early 2016 we are pursuing some other exciting projects and are not planning any immediate parties. Dates for each party will be released via our monthly newsletter which you can sign up for here.

The cost of each craft party is charged per head and all enquiries should be directed here in the first instance. We can only accommodate adult crafters at this stage. FAQs are posted below, but please get in touch if you have any queries!

FAQs

What format do the parties take?
Each craft party will have a different theme and project for you to try. Past projects have included flower crowns, bath bombs and candles, pom pom making, fabric covered bangles, embroidery, simple jewellery dishes and scrap booking. Attendees will craft together and will be provided with instruction and support throughout.
I have never crafted before, will that be a problem?
Not at all! We welcome all skill levels and will be happy to provide tuition. The craft parties will have projects to suit everyone and there will be options to explore your own creativity!
Do I need to bring anything?
Just yourself! All materials are included in the cost of the party.
How often do the parties happen?
Parties are held a few times throughout the year.
How many people attend each party?
This can vary, but our parties are not overwhelming with around 10-15 people crafting. We want to make sure tuition can be provided on a one-to-one basis if needed and we definitely want you to be able to make crafty friends at the same time!
How do I book for the parties?
Tickets can be purchased via an online bookings page which is launched around 2 months before each party. You will be emailed all the necessary information once you have decided to book for a party!
I am no longer able to attend the party, can I be refunded?
Our cancellation policy is to offer a full refund up to 2 weeks prior to the party date. This is to allow for a re-sale of your ticket so another happy crafter can join us! Unfortunately we are only able to refund 50% of the cost if a cancellation is made in the fortnight before the party date.
Do you offer custom parties for special occasions such as birthdays or events?
At the moment we are not able to offer custom parties due to a very full schedule for 2016!

Claire is so lovely and friendly. The whole thing was beautifully presented and there were lots of little thoughtful extras, like the goody bag, water on the table, sweets etc – and the venue was lovely. Craft Party attendee at Pamper Night

Claire organised and hosted a Craft Party for the Cherry Hinton Festival in September 2013. The party was for beginners, improvers and experts where the beginners and improvers could learn to crochet, learn to knit and make a paper pinwheel. The expert crafters brought in projects of their own to share as well as sharing their expertise. Claire organised the yarns, the knitting needles and crochet hooks plus materials and instructions needed for making the pinwheels. There was great attention to detail with knitting and crochet instructions and starter kits for beginners to take away and carry on with some of the skills they learnt. Claire also organised a mini craft fair and no craft party would be complete without tea and cake! The beginners were really pleased to make such good progress in one evening. Claire has a very clear and encouraging style of teaching and people were thrilled to have come away from the evening having learnt a new skill.  In fact some of the beginners have since formed their own monthly craft group. Claire is a wonderful host – friendly, a great teacher, brilliantly organised, with an infectious passion for crafting! Kate Jones, Cherry Hinton Festival Committee

I have attended a few craft parties that Claire has organised and I have always come away with a finished product that I can’t wait to show everyone. Her parties are well organised and definitely cater for all abilities, I had a friend who couldn’t sew but came away with some basic sewing skills and a paper windmill (which I had a serious envy of). She’s a fun host, with lots of skills to share and more importantly she brings the best cakes. I would definitely recommend her and look forward to my next party. Collette, Craft Party Attendee
