This past weekend I ventured to a new venue in Cambridge to host a flower crown workshop for Cambridge Craft Parties. The workshop was a private booking for the lovely Laura who was on her hen do. I love how Cambridge has become a place to visit for celebrations like that and of course the girls had planned to go punting after their craft session with me!
For the party I worked with Novi, a super cool eatery on Regent Street. Not only does Novi have an amazingly cool interior (the brushed gold taps in the loo are ooooh), the food menu showcases local independents with pop ups, so it is always seasonal and incredibly tasty. I’d definitely recommend the Allotment Cafe pop ups if like me you live for brunch!
I set up in Novi’s upstairs room and waited for the fun to begin! The girls were eager to get started and showed much excitement about using a hot glue gun. I can totally relate, it’s a fantastic craft tool that I wouldn’t be without now. Within minutes a craftermath was created and flower crowns were taking shape!
One of the lovely hens was wearing a splint due to a hand injury. She did not let this stop her and promptly set about crafting a ‘splint corsage’ in addition to her crown. Everyone’s creativity really came out and we had some dainty elegant flower crowns as well as some big and bold ones.
A big thanks to Novi for being a great venue and to the lovely group of girls. I love how it never feels like work to show people how to make things and I hear the girls wore their crowns for the rest of the day and into the evening!
I hope to plan some more craft parties that are open to the public soon so watch this space. If you are local and interested in attending a craft party, please get in touch and let me know what you might like to make!
