Planner Geek Out #2

Time for a planner update! Since my first Planner Geek Out post, I’ve sold my peach planner (the colour wasn’t quite right for me) and now I’ve moved into the kikki.K Wellness Planner with Paperchase inserts and a previous (sweary) dashboard. The Scrabble charm is from my shop and the Bow Paper Clips are Kate Spade.

I’m still using my weekly layouts for to do lists and as an appointments calendar. It seems to be working so far. Each week I’ve been sharing my planner decoration on Instagram which I’ve really enjoyed. I love these donut themed stickers I got in a Lucky Dip Club box!

Most weeks have included motivational sticker quotes and washi, so nothing too complicated. I have considered going back to Bullet Journalling to explore doodling and list making some more, but I need to think about how I incorporate that into a 6 ring binder – it’s definitely my go to planner type!

I recently picked up some new stamps, ribbon, washi tape and scrapbook papers at Hobbycraft and I’m thinking about making some new planner dividers from the papers. Would you guys be interested in some DIYs for customising your planner?

I’ve still been using The Happiness Planner for gratitude journalling each night before bed. I’ve only missed one day when I was in bed with migraine all day. It does mean I duplicate some of what I record in my ring bound planner (to dos / schedule etc), so I’ve been considering using this Three Good Things notebook from Lollipop as an alternative. However, I also use The Happiness Planner to note any struggles throughout the day and it is useful to review my month each time. More thought required here!Three-Good-Things-Notebook

At the moment I weirdly feel too busy to plan effectively, so I want to keep searching for efficient ways to plan my time, especially now I’m taking on more work and planning lots of new products for the shop!

The Makers Gonna Make notebook is where I plan all my new product ideas – sketching them out and costing the supplies etc.

I asked on social media whether people preferred spiral or staple binding and plain or lined paper. What do you think?

  1. Ooh, making a note of your struggles throughout the day is a genius idea! I’m going to try doing that too. Would love to see a DIY of your own planner inserts please 😀

I know what you mean about being too busy to plan, it’s backwards isn’t it? But the times I have forced myself to plan my week have been so useful and I’ve felt so much less stressed!

    1. It really helps to write it down, sometimes just to process what has happened throughout the day. I find it especially useful to do this before I go to bed – to let go of any negativity. Will definitely work on some more planner posts!
