Styling An Easter Table

I’m pretty pleased that pastel colours are having a moment again, perfect for Easter decorating this year! Today I’ve teamed up with the lovely folks at Thorntons to bring you some ideas for Styling An Easter Table!Styling-An-Easter-Table-ClaireabellemakesThorntons challenged me to get creative with one of their Easter eggs, so I chose the Pecan Pie egg to make over! Now we all know I’m a fan of spray painting projects, but of course I needed to think of something edible. Metallic easter eggs seem to be on trend this year, so I decided to make this a golden egg!

I found this gold shimmer spray in Hobbycraft and then promptly started singing this in my head for the rest of the day. Gold-Shimmer-Spray

At first I tried to use a doily as a template to create a gold sprayed pattern on the egg, but that didn’t work too well as the chocolate is of course quite a smooth surface. I think spraying the whole egg gold worked well instead. Gold-Easter-EggNext, I picked up some cups and trinkets from Tiger as they had a ton of pastel easter decor.Glass-Jar-Tumblers Easter-Decorations The Biscuiteers also get it right with their golden Easter biscuit selections which always arrive in a cute tin and stay nice and fresh.

I added my Alison Appleton tea pot to the pastel mix. Allison-Appleton-Mint-TeapotCircular-Shelf-Easter-Styling

Hot cross buns must be added to every Easter table right? Oh and the tulips and the little shelf succulent are fake! Would you have guessed? You can see the tulips in this DIY planter post here too.

So what do you think of my golden egg? It was good fun to try something new with chocolate and I can assure you it did not compromise the taste at all! Thanks to Thorntons for letting me get creative for this post.
