December Favourites 2014

Blogger favourites posts should probably appear in my favourites each month. I don’t know about you, but I love discovering new craft ideas, TV shows, beauty products and things to do, especially when others recommend them.

From now on, I will continue to share some useful and beautiful items (new and old), but I’ll also share experiences I have enjoyed each month.

G and I don’t have a car and have managed with just our bikes and trains for almost 9 years now. I like to think we have helped the environment, but we do occasionally hire one to visit family. Over the holidays, we had the car for an extra day and visited a local wildlife park too.

It was FLIPPIN’ FREEZING out, so we wrapped up in a billion layers and went to stroke giant rabbits. We walked through a nocturnal enclosure filled with free flying bats which was super scary. As someone with a huge fear of moths and flying things I was proud of myself. We saw the cutest slow loris too.

Here I am sans make up, all wrapped up like a burrito making a new furry friend.Giant-RabbitWe saw some beautiful red pandas, tigers, monkeys, birds, the smelliest otters ever and tons more. With a quick pit stop for a hot chocolate we finished the day with a lemur feed and a quick hello to some alpacas.Wildlife-Park-Red-Panda

Peppermint hot chocolates with candy canes have been a regular feature in our house, especially over Christmas snuggled under a blanket. Perfect with our Disney film sprees (in preparation for our trip to the US later this year squeee!).

Over the holidays, I also received my Stationery Lovers Xmas swap parcel from Kimberley in New Zealand. It was a beautiful collection of Kikki K, Typo, bicycle and Christmas goodies. I loved this project and it was amazing to see so many thoughtful packages exchanged.

I have really been enjoying the Happy Mail subscription from A Beautiful Mess. It is such a bargain as you receive $50 of stationery for just $15. International shipping is only a couple of dollars too. The cards are all fantastic quality and the stickers and note pads are so cute. Happy-Mail-A-Beautiful-Mess

Continuing the stationery theme, my friend Michelle sent me these Kate Spade bow paper clips for my birthday. They have been on my wish list for absolutely ages and compliment my Lilac and Gold Kikki Time Planner perfectly.Kikki-K-Planner-Kate-Spade-Stationery

Taking medication for my migraines really sucks so I treated myself to this gorgeous little floral pouch with an Etsy voucher I had. It’s from one of my favourite stores Oh Squirrel and is perfect for carrying my meds.

The Homemakery is fast becoming my favourite online store to find craft supplies. Kate ensures that all orders are posted out in the fastest possible time. I picked up one of the yarn packs to start a new blanket in 2015 (in my blog colours!).  I have a few WIPs to finish first though!

I have been looking for a good speed dry nail polish for quite some time. As my nails are not very strong, polish tends to chip fairly quickly. These Bourjois 1 Seconde Gel polishes were my go to ones for the festive season. Especially the glittery one.Bourjois-Nail-Polishes

My last favourite of December is a businessy one. I am planning to work my way through some business books in the next few months. G gave me the Online Marketing one for Christmas and Rosie of One Man Band Accounting did a book giveaway for Getting Things Done.
My word for 2015 is productivity. More bluntly – GET S**T DONE. I feel as though I wasn’t fully prepared for how busy December was, so I hope some business advice will give me a more proactive mindset and help me push towards my goals in a less exhausting way.

So there we have it, some favourites and a little about what is ahead.

What have you enjoyed this last month? And what are your goals for 2015?

  1. I have the Getting Things Done book in digital form and it’s great. I find myself coming back to it when I start procrastinating or feeling overwhelmed. Love your blanket colours too, I must get going on my granny square blanket again! x

  2. Lovely round up of December claire. Love the bunnies! Can’t wait to see what you do with the new yarn. I’ve heard those books are good so I hope they help you achieve your 2015 aims! Xxx
