Filofax Inspiration #8 – Kikki K Lilac Time Planner

Today’s Filofax Inspiration post is a review of the Kikki K Lilac Time Planner.  I came across Kikki K stationery about a year ago, but only purchase goodies from there as a treat as shipping and customs from Australia can be a bit pricey!

The 2015 Time Planner is made from lilac leather and has gold detail on the outside. I opted for the A5 size as I wanted to transition from my A5 Domino Filofax easily.

The leather is really soft which is nice to touch, but could be easily knocked and dented in a handbag. I might need to sew a planner pouch to keep it pristine.

There are plenty of pockets for sticky notes, business cards etc in the inside front cover. I particularly like the zip pocket too.

The hardware is gold and seems pretty sturdy. One of the plus points for me is that the planner lays flat when opened. I much prefer an elastic closure to the Filofaxes with a popper closure.

The Kikki K planner has an elastic pen loop and comes with a week on two page inserts for the diary section. Since this photo was taken, I have ‘moved in’ from my Domino Filofax with week per page inserts which I printed for free from the Philofaxy blog.

Kikki K has some really pretty fineliner pens, so I grabbed a lilac and gold one to match. It is pretty snug in the pen loop though. I have already made some new dividers which I’ll share soon as some of the Kikki K ones don’t apply to me (shops and restaurants?!!).

The planner also comes with a notepad in the back cover which I’ll most likely use. The paper quality is fairly thin but it’s fine for lists and the like.

The A5 is a big planner so I’ll definitely be able to stuff it pretty full. I usually keep all my blog and business scheduling in my planner as well as personal sections such as monthly budgets and my migraine diaries.

My Kikki K Lilac Planner joins the Mint Leather notebook I got last year. Pastel stationery heaven!

I’ll soon be sharing my set up and handmade planner dividers in another post, so stationery lovers and planner geeks should stay subscribed! Let me know if there is anything specific you’d like to see.

  1. Oh Claireeee! This is SO gorgeous! Imagine if you printed your week on 2 pages on lilac paper! 😉 What made you change from your filofax? Were you just after a change? x

  2. So I have a question about filofax/planner usage: I see a lot of people have many of these and seem to collect them, my question is: what do you do with all of them? do you by a new one every year when the last is filled up? use one to keep track of work and one for the rest of your life? Have a large one at home and a small one for your purse?

I’m so tempted to buy one, but it looks like it’s impossible to stop at just one. Do you use all of yours, or just switch between them?

    1. Hi Claire, thanks for commenting. I have only two planners and will use one at any given time. Each year I remove the inserts and replace with new ones so the planner gets lots of use! I like to use one for every aspect of my life, but some people do use one for work and one for personal, it’s entirely up to you! Mine are both large and the spare one will sit on the shelf until I wish to rotate back to it!

  3. Sort of weird question but I was looking into getting the mint version of this planner. On the Kikki K site it does not look like any of the planners have the gold dot detailing. Am I missing it or have the gold dotted ones been discontinued?
