G and I recently took a week off to take a break in Cyprus. We usually start our holidays with a donut tradition at the airport. So indulgent!
There was a heatwave for the entire week with temperatures hitting 42 degrees some days!
This pink flower is everywhere and I see it every time we visit Cyprus.
We relaxed, ate plenty of amazing food and took bike rides along the seafront.
There are a whole ton of cats in Cyprus and they are super friendly.
We visited the handmade markets and found some wonderful art shops filled with work from local artists.
Macramé bracelets were very popular at the market!
I usually pick up some handmade lace at the markets.
Some of the pieces are so intricate and beautiful.
The pretty lace is surrounded by handmade leather sandals, olive oil soaps and herbs.
I also couldn’t resist these handmade pom pom slippers! I will save them for the winter.
The benefits of a heatwave – amazing beach sunsets.
We had a great time and relaxed as much as we could. I’m already planning out next break for 2015 – I’m desperate to go to Disney! Let me know where you are taking your summer holidays this year in the comments below.
Toodles!
Sounds lovely! I’m going to Portugal with my sister in September 🙂 Can’t wait!
Ooh nice, we went there a couple of years ago.
Love those slippers. Don’t think I could have resisted them either. Glad you had a great time:)
Such beautiful lace! Its been many years since I went to Cyprus and I would love to go back one day, I particularly liked the area of Polis and Latchi in the countryside. We’re having a late Summer holiday in October when it will be Summer in Australia and Dubai for our seven week trip 🙂

We went to Cyprus last year and I got those exact same slippers! They are super cute and warm, but I didn’t wash well 🙁 I shall have to go back and get another pair!

Ah, bougainvillea! such a beautiful Mediterranean plant 🙂 Smells amazing too.
Looks like you had a fab time 😀 it’s funny how you can find new handmade things anywhere in the world – I love that element of travel!
I don’t have my summer hols till Sept but it’s the mountains for us. Alps this year.

Gorgeous slippers! I might have to persuade T to instigate a similar holiday tradition. Something tells me it won’t take much… I’m not sure where we’re going this year- we had a minibreak to Bath a few weeks ago which was brilliant, but I’m currently eyeing up an extra-long weekend to Greece for September xxx

Love your blog and your photos. I felt I had to comment on the photo of the pink flower. It is an Oleander shrub…very, very toxic – every part of it. So poisonous. Just wanted to let you know not to pick the flowers.
