UPDATE: Crafty Magazine is not longer in print.
It’s that time of the month again when my sub issue of Crafty Magazine comes through the door! The team at Crafty have really pushed the boat out for issue 9 which is out now. Here’s what we have to get stuck into….
The cover project for this issue is a pair of Nordic style cross stitch gloves. We can thank Sarah Fordham for those. I met her at Renegade back in November and swooned over her stall. She makes cross stitch officially cool.
Elizabeth Healey shares some Japanese Boro textile sewing.
Find out about Gin blending….

There’s an interview with Game of Thrones costume designer Michele Carragher and a look at the beautiful embroidery.

Loving this crochet alarm clock by Kat Goldin. I pretty much love every pattern Kat puts out to be fair.
Another yarn project is offered with this swatch patchwork chair by Sara Reetham.
Who doesn’t love crochet pot holders? I think my kitchen needs some. I’m now on the hunt for some pretty mint yarn.
I hear quilling is making a comeback. And it’s looking beautiful.
You must all know by now that I’m a macaron obsessive. But these meringue kisses are definitely just as pretty. Those colours!
A Knitted Sloth! Oh my giddy aunt.
What a great gift these Knit Purl Gloves would make for your knitter friends!
PLUS! You could win a Janome XL601 sewing machine which is the model I have. She’s called Romy the Janome.
As ever, the magazine offers a great range of projects for all crafters. I’m excited to get some time over the Christmas break to catch up on my magazine pile!
Crafty Magazine is out now and is available in WHSmiths and supermarkets.
Toodles!
LOVE those knit purl gloves! And quilling looks so cool…. but so daunting.
