It’s finally summer here in the UK! So I thought why not share with you my travel smashbook /photo album? I know some of you are big Smashbooking fans, so here is my take on the trend for documenting my holidays.
For my travel journal, I have used a Paperchase photo album and covered in postcard scrapbooking paper and lace. I’ve yet to add our Vancouver trip, so I have more to do.
This travel destination postcard makes me want to see the world….G has been to 5 of these places!
This map and travel themed washi tape was from Hobbycraft, but it was totally overpriced!
The official Smashbook supplies are also now available in Hobbycraft.
We have visited Cyprus twice now and love the bays and blue skies.
It’s where G qualified as a scuba diver! I had to get him a canvas print of this shot as it was too cool not to. It almost looks like a painting close up.
Note – I’m a massive scaredy cat and did not scuba dive on either Cyprus trip! One time we did snorkel close to shore, but G fed about 100 fish next to me and I freaked out and had a panic attack.
We stayed in a beautiful quiet spot when we visited Portugal. Many cliff top walks and lots of fresh fish on that holiday.
The bay we stayed in had a lovely little lighthouse. I took this silhouette image and had it printed on canvas for our home. I really like how the image wraps around the edge.
The town square had wonderful coloured houses decorated for local festivals.
We also took a brief trip to Barcelona a few years back and did the tourist open top bus tour which was a lot of fun.
Our favourite trips have been to Canada. This one was to Thunder Bay, where I was maid of honour at my penpal’s wedding (5 year’s ago!). We have written for almost 22 years I think and we meet up as often as we can.
The scenery is just stunning there.
I hope you enjoyed a peek into our travel journal! In case you are wondering, the canvas prints I had made were from Your Image 2 Canvas. They are fantastic quality and arrived speedily. I would highly recommend them!*
Where are you off to on holidays this year?
Do let me know if you’d like to see my other smash books!
Toodles!
Your holidays look great and love your books! I have lots of previous holiday pics to do scrapbook pages with, will have to get on with it, not very organised I’m afraid :-). . I would love to see your other smash books….
I’ll be sure to share them as they develop Lesley.
What a lovely idea! Reminds me of an exhibition I caught once, where artists displayed notebooks they`d been invited to fill with any memorabilia-text, pictures in any medium-on some aspect of their lives. It made for a fascinating exhibition.
That sounds really interesting. I like using mixed media in my scrapbooks, so for my next one I think I’ll change it up a bit and include more items of interest.
This is AMAZING, I’ve been wanting to start a travel scrapbook for a while and this has given me some ideas. Thank you =)
