Regular readers will of course know I am a craft addict, but I’m also addicted to my smart phone. So when Zoe at Craft Candy contacted me to tell me about their new craft based smart phone app*, I was a little bit excited.
The Craft Candy website evolved from Zoe’s own craft blog which collated and shared craft events and classes happening in London. It has since developed to support craft bloggers, organisations, businesses and mostly recently an app for discovering what’s on near you.
Stand anywhere or even move from place to place and the App will tell you what is going on locally to where you are standing and direct you to the event with the GPS App (no more Google searches). Nifty!
The App is a beta version available to download for free from the 15th March on both Apple and Android devices. I’m pretty psyched about being able to find craft information so easily on my phone when I’m out and about. What are you waiting for people?!
I mentioned a giveaway didn’t I?!
To celebrate the launch of their app, Craft Candy have been kind enough to send me two iPhone cross stitch cases to give away to my readers! (These will fit the iPhone 4).
All you need to do to be in with a chance of winning one of the cases is:
1) Leave a comment on this post telling me your favourite craft place/event/class in your area.
2) Post the following Tweet:
Win a cross-stitch phone case to celebrate the @craftycandy app launch on @claireabellemks blog! http://claireabellemakes.com/2013/03/15/crafty-candy-launch-and-giveaway/
Good luck! I will draw the two winners using random.org on Friday 29th March 2013 and they will be announced on this blog shortly after.
Make sure you follow Craft Candy on Twitter and check out the app. Let me know what you think!
NB: This competition is open to UK readers only.
*I received no payment in exchange for writing this blog post.
UPDATE: Angela Brown and Dilly Tante – you are the lucky winners! I’ll be in touch to arrange your prizes.
