Today I’m going to share with you my love for buttons!
This week has been rather manic with a big work event in the day job, so I haven’t had Β time to create anything and have been pretty frazzled. Especially as I was also helping to plan our WI event to which 130 people came! However, in all the madnessΒ I have had time to lust over some lovely buttons to keep me cheery.
Here’s a few button themed things I found this week…..
A fantastic tutorial for Homemade Shrink Plastic Buttons from super crafty, super friendly blogger Georgina Giles. Look how pretty they are!
How amazing is this sewing machine by Quilted Cupcake on Flickr? Makes me want to pimp my machine!

These rubber stamps are just so sweet. If you fancy some, check out Skull and Cross Buns, there are a great collection of handcarved stamps in the shop!

These buttons are not just buttons but they are made from CANDY! How awesome is that?! They are by Andie’s Speciality Sweets on Etsy and I want to order masses of them to have bowls of button sweets around the house π

I also listed this oversized button ring in my own Etsy shop this week and I just love it. I have some more oversized rings and friendship bracelets coming soon π
Are you as mad about buttons?!

Come and check out the other posts in Handmade Monday here.
Love these. The button sweets are amazing! I’m mad about buttons too – I love getting a new collection and sorting through it to match them up and find the best. Could spends hours if I had the time! x
I am going to sound sad here, but I once sat in a friends lounge, tipped out her millions of buttons, colour coordinated them all and returned them to their tin. Satisfying!
Lol, I was going to mention that!
Sophie, meet Jo. Said friend and a fellow button lover π
Those ideas are so cool I especially love them as stamps idea – that’s really great. Also love the idea of covering a sewing machine in them too but I really wouldn’t have the heart to do that to either of mine!
I have a cheapie machine, so I may try it…..
I love button too!
I’m off to Cardiff next Jan and am trying to work out a way to go to the dedicated button shop there. If I have to go ear especially then I will!
A dedicated button shop!?!!! Amazing!
They do have a few beads, but it is a button shop really. http://www.clairegrove.co.uk/

I loved your papercraft satchels π
How cute!
OH MY WORD. EVERYTHING about this post is beautiful. It’s not often I click on every link I can find, but this time I’m very glad I did. And I am definitely seriously contemplating doing that to my sewing machine π

I’m glad you enjoyed the links π
I am LOVING the sweets!! Every house needs a bowl of these on their coffee table! Buttons have such nostalgia about them – I also remember playing with my Mum’s button box as children, there’s just something about them!! x
They wouldn’t last long in our house though….
You may have hit the nail on the head there, perhaps I do associate buttons with sweets and that’s why I adore them so! I’m working on making buttons myself at the moment and having so much fun. And when I’m stressed I find myself rootling through my button jar. Another exciting post!
Stress relieving and fun, what more could you want?!
I am a button nut too! I collect vintage ones made of natural materials like mother of pearl, wood, leather, and vegetable ivory. And plastic too π I blog about my collection sometimes on my Idle Needle blog.
I adore the button candy, such an ingenious idea! And the sewing machine covered in buttons looks wonderful!
Your shop is great, I added it to my favourites – love the russian doll ring!

I love buttons too! There’s a shop just a few blocks down and she has a huge bowl of buttons on her cutting table. I have so much fun going through that bowl searching for treasures.

I don’t think I’ve ever met anybody crafty who doesn’t love buttons! They are just friendly somehow! Virtually everything looks better with a button on it!

Very nice! The candy buttons look delicious!
Wow, what a fab post – what is it about buttons that just makes them so loveable? My mum’s and grandma’s button tins are a big part of my childhood memories, so I think it’s pretty deep-rooted!
Your pastel sweet buttons first caught my eye but that sewing machine is just fab. I’m looking at mine now and it looks so boring. Thanks for sharing.

Not sure how feasible it would be to have the sweetie buttons on any children’s clothes. I wonder how long they would last? Great post.
If they were on my cardigans they would definitely be gone within minutes!
Fantastic selection of buttons. Really loving the sweet one. Impressive finds.
OMG I just squealed when I saw this post, I adore buttons!!! What is it about buttons, such a random little thing, but I get so excited in haberdashery shops by all the buttons! I love that sewing machine, how amazing. x
