As a self confessed craft swap addict, I couldn’t help but sign up for the Pincushion Swap organised by bloggers House of Pinheiro and Sew Far Sew Good.
Once paired, I had to make a pin cushion or needle case for my partner using items from my stash. Inspired by the last Cath Kidston craft night, I opted to make a pin cushion kilner jar. I love a bit of craft glue, so any excuse really!
I added some buttons and ribbon in the jar and stuck to a red, white and blue theme as my giftee had said those were her favourite colours. It was good timing too as the swap was around the time of the jubilee.
I received a really cute toad stall needlecase from my swap partner in the US.
Here are some of the pincushions I found whilst browsing pinterest for ideas. You can also see all the lovely pincushions made for the swap via this Flickr group.

My favourite pincushion ever has to be this cute Cath Kidston owl pincushion which I got for Christmas from my friend Jess.

Did you like any of my photos? Why not pin them for craft inspiration?

I love this swap! plus that mouse pin cushion is the cutest thing ever!
The pincushion swap looks like so much fun! One can never have too many… and I’ve realised I need a needlecase… I’m still keeping my needles in their original packet which is very unsatisfactory!
That mouse pincushion is darling!
Until this swap I was also keeping my needles in the original cardboard case. Very tatty!
Yey! I love that you chose to make a jar!!
Toadstool fabric is very cute!
Visiting from Sew Many Ways – love the pin cushion kilner jar idea. I’m sure your partner will love it!
That little mouse pin cushion is so adorable!
I ,love the owl and mouse yet at the same time not sure how I feel about actually using them for pins! (Am I being extra sensitive?) Love the jar as no issues and it has space to keep all those other little bits I have that have no home!
Others have said the same thing – they are rather cute! The jars are super easy to make & I love a bit of craft glue
Oh good was worried I was a bit loopy for a while there!
